Programme Highlights

  1. The 4-semester SOE Program for M.Tech in Power System Engineering is tailored to enrich the knowledge and skill set of professionals who are currently employed in the electrical power system field. The program strives to establish a robust intellectual foundation in contemporary technologies, with a particular emphasis on specific domains and practical applications related to the field. This approach empowers students to improve their existing skills and stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the industry.
  2. To qualify for the program, applicants must have completed their B.E./B.Tech in the relevant field. Additionally, they must have a minimum of two years of full-time relevant work experience in a registered government or autonomous organization, company, educational institute, industry, or firm. This criterion guarantees that the applicants have ample exposure and practical experience in the field of power system engineering, which will be advantageous to them while pursuing the course.
  3. The M.Tech in Power System course offered in flexible time shifts adheres to the norms specified by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in the Approval Process Handbook, which is released periodically.
  4. Live and interactive classes are conducted during weekdays (in the evening time), on weekends, and holidays in the flexible time shifts. After the completion of classes, recorded lectures are accessible through the Learning Management System (LMS) for unlimited viewing. Labs are conducted every Saturday at the campus, and alternatively, virtual simulations are conducted and can be accessed through virtual and remote modes with the help of simulations.
  5. To offer students real-time practical lab experience, virtual and remote labs with simulations are available 24/7. These labs can be accessed remotely, allowing students to gain exposure to real-world scenarios outside regular lab hours. The availability of these labs ensures that students have access to practical lab experience and can acquire hands-on knowledge, which is crucial for a program in Electronics and Communication engineering. Moreover, the ability to access these labs remotely provides students with scheduling flexibility for their lab sessions and enables them to learn at their own pace.
  6. The M.Tech program in Power System Engineering under the SOE Program follows a continuous evaluation system to assess the students' performance throughout the program. The evaluation process includes various learning methods such as sessional examinations, quizzes, assignments, practical, and semester examinations. By evaluating the students' performance through different pedagogies, the program ensures that students are continuously monitored and that their progress is tracked regularly. The evaluation results are shared with the students, providing them with feedback on their performance, which can help them identify their strengths and weaknesses. This feedback assists students in improving their skills and prepares them for their future academic and professional pursuits.
